The Busy Persons Guide to Social Networking
We’ve all got that never ending to do list…and for those who aren’t seasoned social networking butterflies – participating in this world wide social experiment is both overwhelming and daunting.
Social networking is vital to anyone wishing to promote a website…whether it is personal or professional. I have tried all the various options and found what works and what doesn’t. If you follow my guide, you will be able to dive head first into social networking, without a huge investment of time or energy.
The first thing you need to do is choose a user name, be sure you have a head shot type photo of yourself, and your logo or icon. It’s also wise to save any lists you create when setting up your profiles (like your interests, your favorite music, etc), so that you can just copy and paste them into other profiles that require the same info.
1. SIgn up at Onlywire.com
After signing up, you will need to do two things. 1. add the bookmark button to your toolbar and then add it to your website (your visitors will then be able to bookmark your site when they visit it). Onlywire provides easy to understand instructions on how to do both.
The next step is a bit time consuming…but you only have to do it once and it will be well worth your time. You will need to sign up for the following social bookmarking sites. You should use the same user name for each site and most sites only require you to enter your name, user name, and a password.
After you’ve signed up for each of the sites below, go to Onlywire.com and enter your user name and password for each of the services and click save. Once you have done that, you will then be able to bookmark your new blog posts, sales pages, or any site you like – to 20 sites all at once. That means your links will then be embedded in 20 link directories and accessible to millions of people.
Here is the list of 20 social bookmarking sites that Onlywire.com works with:
